shadows (ii) (poem)

standing between two lampposts

is difficult

you don’t know where your shadow falls

grey shadows overlapping

you can’t tell which one

is really yours

or from which lamp it came

but you know it comes from both.

Shadows (poem)

long forms

short forms

hazy forms

incisive forms

grey forms

black forms

shadows form.

on walls

on ceilings

on floors

on grass

on meadows

on plains

on hills

stick fast.

running at will

jumping jacks

dancing with joy

walking fast

creeping silently

trailing like vines

climbing abandoned

still at last.
