Lazy Afternoon (poem and painting)

Lazy Afternoon
watercolour on paper
12″x18″

what can be better than a good lazy afternoon

reclining, relaxing, revitalizing

recalling, remembering, reminiscing

recovered, rested, restored, revived

renewed from au naturel afternoon

Company (poem and painting)

Company
watercolour on paper
12″x18″

everyone knows two is company

you can spend a day in harmony

talk or silence won’t matter at all

just having you there as close as can be

is the perfect way to share your company

Tyger, Tyger (poem and painting)

Tyger Tyger
watercolour on paper
14×16

Tyger, tyger wrote a poet

in the shadows, thought he saw it

if it drew near you’d never know it

barely hear the grass around it

Tyger, tiger fearful creature

we cringe in fear at your raw nature

barely moving silent mover

glorious masterpiece of nature

Tyger, tiger do you ever

know how much fear in us you render

calm and patient stand you there

panicked, scared, we favour prayer.

Butterflies (poem and painting)

flitter flutter little butter

fly from flower to flower

what purpose? what care?

sip all the nectar that you dare

flutter by on wings of blue

or any other rainbow hue

i gasp in pleasure watch you flitter

you care for naught but where

to find another pretty flower

Winter of Despair (a painting and two poems)

1

Winter of Despair (watercolor on paper, 12″x18″)

Winter of Despair (I)

Crouching in the shadows

Doubting, desperate, and despondent

Even the sunlight is drab

Winter of Despair (II)

in silent shadow grey and deep

away from sunlight, there i sit

i crouch as small as i can get

for countless days i have not slept

in my small corner, dark, unlit

i silently weep myself to sleep

my head is heavy, my heart, as well

my body feels like it’s been dragged through hell

and nothing remains in this empty shell

one winter i felt despair

and though i am loath to, i still find myself there

I Live (poem)

0

The body moves

but the soul dances

The voice may be heard

but the heart sings out

The mind invents

but the spirit creates

All art emanates from their creators

All creators live through their art
