To The One I Love, a Sonnet

0

I learned how timeless time can be

When heartbeats are pulses of eternity

When sun and moon and stars revolve

About me, insignificant entity

In void alone a vesper shines

A single star becomes a galaxy

When alpha is omega and

When lines run through infinity

The path I run parallels the sun’s

Rays, we merge, an undefined unity

Defying relativity

Fixed points converging in serendipity.

To say I love you is pure subtlety

No words define love’s cosmos within me.

a lover’s treasure (poem)

0

i closed my eyes

my heart was ice

or so i thought

so never sought

to feed the fire

of love’s desire

but love was strong

it proved me wrong

and i now sit

calm at its feet

in love’s full measure

a lover’s treasure

(a love poem)

0

do i love thee well?

i know not my heart’s

mysterious ways

know i only that

it leaps quivering

with every thought of thee

unbounded joy fills me

and in thy presence

I know neither myself

nor do I know existence

lest existence be a loving heart

i know full well i am

thence i love thee well.

Shadows (poem)

0

long forms

short forms

hazy forms

incisive forms

grey forms

black forms

shadows form.

on walls

on ceilings

on floors

on grass

on meadows

on plains

on hills

stick fast.

running at will

jumping jacks

dancing with joy

walking fast

creeping silently

trailing like vines

climbing abandoned

still at last.

in Poseidon’s bed i rest (a poem)

0

wondrous stars

never do i cease

wondering

never tiring

casting brilliance

in darkened dome

and below

reflections

soft beads of white

in Poseidon’s bed

gently lulling vessels

in warm embrace

i rest.

phoenix (poem)

0

i quail to think of the year past

when days i spent i thought would last

and helpless i clung fast

to what now has crumbled all to dust

amidst the ashes i hoped to see rise

a phoenix, ah! lost dreams and sighs

     escaped me, the forlorn hiss

of a flame in its demise

times i have spent in solitary musing

moments passing, echoes rising

from emptier than empty caverns, cursing

the endless void, silence growing

slow, a form takes shape amidst ashes

foundation of unvoiced dreams and wishes

     an undefinable haze form approaches

     taking wing, the phoenix rises

without you (a poem)

0

my eyes have seen

untold wonders

in yours

reflections of warmth

burning pools of fiery flames

deep fathomless eddies

of unknown

eons of light years

pass as a breeze

with your touch

gently as the wind

riding in gales

crashing torrents

of rain and thunder

blinding lights

of rising spirits

i soar

above clouds

bewinged by love

spirits clinging scanning oceans

scaling mountains

wings folding

gently dropping

rise anew

reaching stars and

the heavens

swirling clouds

hazy skies give in

to blue

the night is filled

sweet sighs

flames grow

winds tearing asunder

what man has joined

i seek

to fly once more

over wind and rain

join wind, join rain

in frenzied dance

clipped wings flutter

helpless, alone

without

you.

where the darkness? (poem)

0

where the darkness?

where the night?

come,

giver of light

extinguish thy fire

that i may hide

i seek a cloak

that may cover me

that i might be

enwrapped

solitary

that i may unburden

my troubles

in your omnipotent being

that i may silently weep

alone

that no other may share

the bitter tears

the pain

it seethes

through my very entrails

it consumes me

mercilessly

i beseech thee night!

bear me upon thy fiery wings

i flee

i long to flee

far away

to join eons

of light

of night

to rid myself

of mortal trappings

to seek Charon and

journey the river Styx

where darkness

is forever

i long

for

what?

the sea and i (a poem)

0

the sea and i

are one

we float

gaze at the sky

we see ourselves

stars shining brightly

we rise

we reach, reach

for the stars

we try

we’ve been together

since

a long long time ago

we’ve lived forever

no one

no one ever knows

that

the sea and i

are one

we travel on

rolling on, rolling on

viewing the mountains

emerald spots of green

longing for calm

longing to stay

the stars keep on calling

we must go their way

the stars have their way

the sea and i

are one

we fly

fly to the heavens

shining in the heavens

we are our mirror

gazing down below

we watch ourselves going, rolling

we watch

the sea

and i.

The Sea (a poem)

0

waves

rolling, lolling, rushing

brine white crests

mounting high

higher

meet the shore

i stand

alone

waves lapping at

toes, ankles, knees

rising

a warming coolness

seeps into me

engulfing

washes over me

waters run

through me

cleansing

quenching

filling empty spaces

the void in me

murmurs with sea

moaning

softly crying

watching

waiting

for moon to shine

tenderly to

caress the weariness

gently

softly

breezily

tears ebb

with the tide

join the sea

brine within brine

sinking to fathomless depths

i ebb drop

by drop

i join

the sea.
